Each live one-to-one lesson is a full 1-hour session (60 minutes) directly with a certified native teacher. This duration ensures ample time for warm-up conversational activation, targeted pedagogical instruction, vocabulary practice, and constructive feedback without rushing.
Every LanguageTicket teacher undergoes thorough background checks (enhanced criminal record checks / DBS / police clearances), degree and certification verification (CELTA, DELTA, or state teaching licenses), and pedagogical interviews. Only the top 3% of applicants who demonstrate specific expertise with children or teenagers are accepted.
Families have full flexibility through the parent portal. You can book recurring weekly time slots or book lessons week-by-week around school examinations and family commitments. Rescheduling is available with standard 24-hour advance notice without penalty.
Initial placement is determined via an informal diagnostic conversation with a certified evaluator assessing spoken fluency, phonemic awareness, reading comprehension, and grammar on the Common European Framework of Reference (CEFR, A1 through C2). Ongoing milestone assessments ensure lessons continue to challenge the student as they progress.
Following every 1-hour session, teachers complete a structured report and personal voice summary accessible via the parent dashboard. These notes highlight newly mastered vocabulary, grammatical progress, areas for home reinforcement, and homework recommendations.
Student safety is paramount. All lessons occur within encrypted, monitored digital classrooms with automated recording for child protection and quality assurance. Direct external communication between tutors and young learners outside the platform is strictly prohibited.
We do not lock parents into automatic recurring subscription charges. Lesson credit packages are purchased upfront and carry a 12-month validity period, allowing families to take breaks during holidays or exam periods. Unused credits are subject to our clear and fair Refund Policy.
Following the initial diagnostic session, parents receive a comprehensive academic assessment report detailing their child's current CEFR level, syllabus recommendations, and suitable teacher profiles. Parents can then choose if and when they wish to begin regular lessons—there is never any sales pressure or automatic billing.
